Good evening all, I hope we are all well!
Tonight I wish to discuss the concept of "home". This is because I am going home, to Purley, in two days time. This time in two days I will be at home - this is a very exciting thing for me. Because you see I have not been home since the 9th January - so this weekend would have been 11 weeks since I have seen my house, my friends, and my Dad (I saw my Mum 9 weeks ago, and John a month ago). This is a really scary thought.
When I was starting year 7, my Dad moved to Malaysia with his work. While this was great as we got free flights to go and see him, so in essence free holidays, we obviously missed him greatly. We as a family have always had an emotional attachment to Malaysia from a holiday in 1996, so any chance to go back there was willingly jumped at. We have so many great memories there, from riding elephants to snorkeling in the shallows of tiny islands to seeing orang-utans up close in their sanctuary. Anyway, I will now relate this to "home". In an exam once, I think it was in year 9 or 10, I was asked to describe my home. I took around 5 minutes to decide whether I was going to describe my home in Purley, or describe my Dad's flat in Malaysia, and roughly describe the country. So I decided to do both, which was a nice idea but in the end, a bad choice, as I ran out of time! But as I wrote my "essay", I realised how much I really missed Malaysia, so I knew I could have written the whole thing on home being in Malaysia. But although I think this, I know I'd've missed my "other home" in Purley. Confusion, confusion.
Next, saying "I'm going home." I often used to use this term when talking to Lydia when we were going back to her house. I suppose her house was a home from home for me so it is understandable, but I have recently found that I refer to the place I am staying that day/night as "home" - for instance, Mum came to visit me in Leeds and we stayed in a hotel for the night and when we were at the pub having tea, I said something about going "home", and Mum knew what I meant because she does the same, but that's when I really realised that I do it. But I think this just indicates that I feel comfortable wherever I call "home."
Having said all this, I know there is only one home for me, and that is in Purley. I LOVE my house, I love my garden, I love my road, I love the area, for me, it is everything that "home" should be. I don't know how I'm going to establish myself in a home that isn't in Purley, but I will try my hardest! And you know what they say, you don't know what the future holds. You never know I may settle down really easily!
Love and peace to all,

Notes
Good afternoon all! I hope we are all well.
Today I wish to discuss notes. As in, the type of note you pass in a lesson/lecture, or write a conversation on a piece of paper with the person next to you. My friend Leanne Bailey and I often have written conversations during a lecture.
I remember passing my first note when I was in year 8, telling my friend to duck her head because I couldn't see. So that wasn't really inkeeping with the whole rebellious nature of sending a note, but it was a note all the same. Slowly they progressed to being about boys and bitching about other girls [a popular subject!]
A personal favourite of mine, I must admit, was getting a piece of A4 paper and writing an entire conversation on it, many of which I still have at home somewhere. Leanne and I had a really funny doodling session/written conversation the other day in a lecture on diversity in teaching. It involved temptation, racism, fruit and hate crime! Really funny actually. It is currently on my wall. I also found a conversation written by what looks like two boys:
I thought we had something ;)
Naa mate! Sorry
You looked in my eyes and said that our song is 'I will always LOVE you'!
Our song is FOREVER IS OVER!
Did not say that when we SPOONED
I laughed SO much when I read this, and it is also on my wall.
Not a very long blog but it covers all I want to say - I LOVE notes!
Love and peace to all,
kjxxx

"Keep Holding On"
Good evening all! I hope we are all well.
Tonight I just wish to post the lyrics to a song. I dedicate the words to a really specialy person in my life xx
You're not alone
Together we stand
I'll be by your side, you know I'll take your hand
When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There's no place to go
You know I won't give in
No I won't give in
Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
So far away
I wish you were here
Before it's too late, this could all disappear
Before the doors close
And it comes to an end
With you by my side I will fight and defend,
I'll fight and defend
Yeah, yeah!
Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Hear me when I say, when I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
La da da da
La da da da
La da da da da da da da da
Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on

Keep holding on...

Webcams
Good evening all! I hope we are all well.
Tonight I am going to be discussing the fantastic invention that is the webcam. We all use them, and I personally find them brilliant. I first heard of a webcam when I signed up for an MSN account in about 2004, at the young age of 13. I didn't myself have one, but I really wanted one. My friends had them, and when I went to my best friend's house for sleepovers I didn't want to watch films and
chat, I wanted to go on MSN and use her webcam. When I finally had had enough of not having webcam, I realised I could change the connection settings on the family digital camera to make it into a webcam - screw it into a tripod and Bob's your uncle, a fully working webcam. Although what I used it for most was when friends came round and we took photos on it - so I should have just used the camera for that really. Although I got some really funny photos on it > this one for example! We don't really remember what actually happened in this photograph, just good click timing from Amy Osland we think!
However funny that photo may be, nothing will ever top the might night Lydia Fernandes and I had. I can only find one photo from that night, I had to venture onto my unused bebo
page to get it, but here it is, in all its glory: How beautiful is that! We had drawn on each other with eyeliner, shoved on some kind of bobbley ears and pretended to kiss. The joys of being 15! But the photos did not stop there, ohh no. We took about 150 photos on webcam that night, just completely messing around. Being 15 year olds! And as time went on, we grew older, but not more mature. The photos kept on coming, and we kept on being sillier and sillier. But then one day, a digital camera was introduced, and the webcam seemingly forgotten ...
I love webcams. I love going on webcam with my brother and seeing my cat and mum at the same time. I love how our computer at home is rather old so John needs to wear a headset to talk to me and hear me, and the webcam is so poor that I can hardly see him anyway. But I just LOVE webcams!
And even though the age of taking photos on webcam seems to have
passed, Emma Jones and I took around 200 webcam photos in September before we came to uni, and every single one was Facebook worthy. You can just totally mess around on webcam and it's just expected - no-one judges you, you can pull any kind of face and its fine, because it's webcam. Here is one of my favourite photos of Emma and I from that day:
I just LOVE it.
I have recently rediscovered my webcam. And when I say recently, I mean in the last 2 days. And in the last 2 days, after rediscovering my webcam, I have taken 44 photos on it, one of which is in yesterday's blog (Laughter). All of me. See, that's another thing about webcams. They allow you to be totally vain. I may never publish those photos to the internet, but I like them and I will show all my friends when they come over. It also helps that I have a crystal eye webcam which is pretty much airbrushing my skin whenever it looks at me. I generally like this, but the only problem is that I have some little freckles on my cheeks and nose that I quite like and these aren't on the webcam, sad times. But overall, j'aime les photographs.
I suppose I've got to put a downer on this at some point. Some people abuse the webcam, by being naked on it, or using it in a seductive way. I think webcams are friendly things, and although I know the majority use it for more than just friendly stuff, it is clear that people abuse the original use the webcam had. This is sad times, but only to be expected.
Well I'm off now.
Love and peace to all,

Laughter
Good evening all! I hope we are all well.
Tonight I am going to talk about laughter. The incredible drug that is laughter.
I was previously writing a blog about the recent earthquakes in Chile and Haiti but I've had too light an evening to post about such a serious topic, I would not do it justice.
First off, what makes you laugh? I know what/who makes me laugh. A lot of people make me laugh, but there are some people that there is no doubt that you will laugh when you talk to them. One of these is James Fleury. Tonight, he has told me one of the funniest stories I think I've heard for a while - he was drunk with his friends Mike and Niall on Niall's treadmill last night before heading to tigertiger Croydon, when he fell over at the back of the treadmill and kept hitting himself as the treadmill obviously carried on; took out Mike on his way down, who in turn pushed Niall off the side of the treadmill into the computer. James then went on to describe this as 'bad times.' but on the contrary, I think this is brilliant times! I often laugh at others hilarious misfortune.
Let me tell you a little about James Fleury. He came to a house party of mine last May and got so drunk he threw up Paella in my garden and was put to bed with a sick bucket at about 11.30? He is also obsessed with music and often sends me and others links to YouTube videos of great performances of songs we like. My nicest photo of the night is almost always with him for some reason.
Another thing James did tonight to make me laugh was that I said something regarding seeing someone being worth the hassle, but it was quite funny, and he says 'lmao! i do miss you katy jones. and the funniest part is that i can actually hear you saying that in my head!'. I laughed so much, just because I know exactly what he's on about. Possibly a had-to-be-there moment. So anyway, that's James.
Next up is Miss Kayleigh O'Brien. We laugh so much when together, remembering such situations as 'finish yourself off!', 'I don't do crying people!' and the shalabalaelaleidngaknfdjn song ... she'll know what I mean! Although it's bad at times when we're trying to have a serious conversation but one of us just sits and laughs [especially when the song comes on in the bar], it does bring light to any situation, and for that, I thank you Miss O'Brien! As we often say, 'if you didn't laugh you'd cry!', and I for one know I'd rather laugh than cry with you. :)
There are loads more people who make me laugh but reflecting on the last day I had to write something about those two.
Now things that make me laugh:
http://www.wikihow.com/Kiss < I discovered this today when I was thinking about the different types of kiss and what I personally prefer [we may discuss this at a later date!] and thought I'd see how wikihow tells us to do it.
Funny films - Step Brothers, Anchorman, 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad.
Funny programmes - Family Guy, The Simpsons, Friends, Scrubs.
Random events - Seeing a Ferrari motorised scooter, buying a light saber for a 19 yr old's birthday - setting this same light saber off on the bus, drawing massive penises all over Tara Mani Lundie's Physics notepad with Joe Royle, etcetc.

Hope this has given you an insight into what makes me laugh! I've had such a good evening, just have a look at this >>
That's how I've felt all evening!
Great day :D

Hello World
I doubt many people will read this blog but for those who do, welcome to a snippet of my world! I have recently been inspired by my journalist friend's blog that she has to do for her course as a record of her reviews and thoughts etc. She is constantly keeping me updated with what's going on in everything! So although what I will blog about will not be particularly interesting, I feel I need to do something!
Well I'm going to start by saying a bit about myself. I am 5"1 with brown hair, bluey eyes and some freckles dotted about my person. I enjoy being short as it means almost any guy I meet will be taller than me - always a good thing. I attend Leeds Met Uni and am doing Primary Ed - 4 years and I will be a teacher at the end :) Bien! Home is in Croydon, South London, with my mum, brother John and cat Paws. I miss them dearly, especially Paws.
When at home, I work at my local tennis club/surrounding schools teaching children tennis. I love it so much, I really do. And the people aren't half bad either :)
Enough about me. On here, I plan to write my views about such hot topics as earthquakes (is there a God?), music (the current chart) and Crystal Palace FC (the love of my life).
If I'm feeling particularly thoughtful/argumentative one day I might crack out some more controversial views of mine.
Love and peace to all,
kjxx
